How do I change from wifi 6 down to wifi 5 on EE smart hub plus

I'm bit confused, a few days ago after setting up my smart hub my older laptop could not see the wifi network. I changed the wifi settings on the hub down from wifi 6 to 5 and the laptop could see and connect to the network. Was fine all day, however the next day connection was lost and once again the laptop could not see the wifi network, almost as if the hub had reset over night.

However the baffling point is on going in to once again change from wifi 6 to 5. I am unable to find the setting this time? I have tried via the EE app and direct to the router via IP 192.168.1.254.

I had a call with a Tec guide for over an hour but he was unable to help.

On the Advanced > Wireless page of the SH+ there is at the bottom a Wireless mode: setting.

Thanks for the quick response.

All I see on the "Manage your wireless advanced settings", are the 2.4 a 5 kHz settings. No config setting for wifi 6/5, this is via a browser, if I use the mobile app I don't see the advance settings?

@Nolly60 Unfortunate timing for the EE Smarthub+ router, you have just had the upgrade to the latest FW that is available for the router, now it has a completely different look and feel, you are in the right area, but you may have to set up the compatible network feature operation, or get a fix for why you laptop is struggling to get on the primary network wi-fi ssid operation.

Thanks for the update.

I have already set up the compatiable network and this is visible to other equipment but not my laptop.

How do I get a fix??

Very frustrating that I sorted the issue once and this has been reversed with no way to fix now!

@Nolly60 Same rules as per the main, look at the wpa mode, would set it at WPA2-Personal, turn off the 5Ghz band temp, save and see if the nic on the Laptop can see the SSID, there is incompatible issue on the laptop until you find the method of getting it attached.

Done all that as did the tech guide.

I've ordered a wifi 6 compatible wifi card for my Laptop, last resort, otherwise I'll be getting the BT smart hub out.

Thanks for your time.

@Nolly60 Is your laptop a windows device? There is properties on the wireless nic that may work better if you make the adjustment, and you could see if there are any drivers that work better.
