Getting out a Broadband contract I was missold

I recently changed my BT broadband internet over to EE when adding my son's SIM only contract in July. When I was being sold this I mentioned that super fast fibre was being installed on the streets next to us and we were next, I said will this be an issue if I take this contract out with you and was told no once I have news we are connected I can upgrade. I mentioned I would only take this contract if I could get it ie. However, as of last night I have found out that another provider has exclusively on the area with no date when EE would then be able to provide. I am now tied into a contract until 2026 with internet that is far below what I should be getting. What are my next steps to take this further?  I am absolutely furious I was told what I wanted to hear to take this contract. I called and they rejected my complaint halfway through as I also wanted to add that the internet constantly cuts out for minutes at a time.

@MovingUnit  with your Internet cutting out that’s a separate issue which you need to raise separately with customer service.

The ability to upgrade that you were told you can do will still be there you just cannot do it yet. There was no guarantee on when you will be able to do this so you’ve not been misled.     When the upgrade lines do become available to you you’ll be able to have it.    Did you mention to the agent who was installing those lines ?  Because you did assume that these lines are also for EE customers  back in July.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I can't remember exactly what was said in the conversation as it was in July so I would need to request the recording but my understanding was during the call I would be able to have the superfast that was being installed. I have already sorted the engineer to come out.

Also just as an addition I didn't assume these were EE, I asked questions to the agent regarding all of this at the time.

@MovingUnit : What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

@MovingUnit  EE use the Openreach network, they have a simple checker that shows the maximum speeds available, and if they are planning Full Fibre in the near future. In addition you can register with them and they will let you know when they do have plans.

Who is the other provider?

It says by the end of 2026. I could have been told this on the phone that is was open reach and to check. But wasn't so stupidly took their word for it.

I now know it's Virgin.

@MovingUnit Installation of the Fibre will take whatever time is needed. The fact that VM got there first is just one of those things, EE will have NO idea what OR intend to do with cabling up the area. You could see if VM are prepared to buy out the EE contract and don't be surprised if they wont.
