Fibre upgraded package speeds the same

Hello,

I upgraded my broadband package from Fibre 100 to Fibre 500.

I am not seeing any download speed differences. I am still only getting around 150 download, my upload has increased as expected though.

I have read online others with this issue an engineer had to adjust some settings possibly to allow the new speeds to reach my end?

I phoned support and they have checked my speeds, confirmed they are sending me 500 download to my end but its not showing on my side still same download speeds as before the upgrade.

Any help is appreciated.

Post your full router stats:

  • As I'm with EE I'm not sure of the details of the BT SH2, but login and go to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information. Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username & also the SSIDs. Also post the Home > Status page.

Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.

Try texting HELP to 66033 so the automated system can check your line, it may then give you the option to text GUIDE to have someone give you a call back.

It's possible the speed profile wasn't fully updated when the order activated, this is something they'll be able to check for you.

You might want to check/replace the ethernet cable coming from the ONT to the router. Could be a limiting factor if it's faulty or an old Cat 5 cable.
