Hi

Do EE still do this as when i try to search Broadband deals it just gives me Full Fibre broadband deals. I only do basic online stuff so don't really need Full fibre & FTTC is less hassle i guess.

Thanks

Aside from your dimensions I would say you had the EE BrightBox:

which would also work on FTTP.

There are no cons of FTTP over ADSL.

yeh that's it. The engineer from openreach that came this morning due to an issue said he hadn't seen on in any house in 5 years, obsolete . Don't EE send you a new router if going full fiber, surely not use a router that old. I had a spare as my other Brightbox failed. The spare is very old. Reply tomoz am off worn out

Yes, you will be sent a modern EE router for FTTP. They would not expect you to continue using the BrightBox.

Went the EE shop today, said i can have FTTC but better to have FTTP which is understandable. Got a new Brightbox1 router so may keep this for a bit but who knows.. Getting a new desktop pc before W10 finishes as mi Optiplex don't support W11. May wait & do it all at once.

Was it the shop that said you can have FTTC? If so, I'm surprised & wouldn't be surprised that you won't be able to when you get around to ordering it. Try a dummy order online @ https://ee.co.uk/broadband/deals & see what you can really get.

What I said about the BrightBox being useable on FTTP wasn't quite correct. There a 2 types of BrightBox like I illustrated:

  1. The BrightBox 1R, which you must have, would be no good for FTTP as it only has 100 Meg WAN & LAN ports.
  2. The BrightBox 2 would be suitable for FTTP up to 1 Gig if you need to connect only 1 device by Ethernet as it has a 1 Gig WAN & only one 1 Gig LAN port.

Yes, he didn't say for definite but said it is still available & said that all the green boxes are being sold off so everything will be full fibre.

Yes i have Brightbox 1. I just bought another one off ebay for a fiver just in case this one goes as old.. Am so glad i kept an old one.. The Openreach engineer couldn't understand why all green lights on but no internet. He did the tests & eradicated a few possible symptoms of what it could be so it was either the router or the pc..

Just a quick question.. If i order full fibre & they send me a router ^ the guyt arrives to fit it all, do i still have my current broadband until he arrives or do they cut it off early once i agree to the upgrade..

Regards Gary

Your current ADSL BB won't stop until the eng. comes to fit your FTTP. You might have about an hour's downtime.

I bought another Brightbox 1 router off ebay, only a fiver. I'm terrible with change, same with my pc running Windows 10
