EE wifi

I have contacted EE to stop the EE wifi hot-spot that others use to piggy back on my router. But it's not been stopped 3x. I tried everything. Even logging on to the router 192.168.1.254 and disabling WIFI. But that's not stopping the EE WIFI hot-spot on my router. It's a very strong signal that anyone can use on my router. I work in the government and need not only security but all available network. I heard a firmware update is behind this. It wasn't on older BT routers. Can you help please?

@Parasurfer49 : In your online EE a/c under Manage > Plans & Subs > Manage broadband > EE WiFi (at bottom) > Learn more about EE WiFi > Opt Out . This will also stop your own access to EE WiFi.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thanks. The EE WIFI link isn't coming up on my device now. Thats super. Is it just a normal WiFi signal. It seems very very strong. Previously nothing could stop it or is it the phone itself that shows its strong when it's blocked by foil ?

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.

It will be strong. It's coming from your router. I'll be as strong as your 2,4 GHz own signal.

The EE WIFI  is still on. It came back on although I opted out. I just checked.

How can I turn off the EE wifi hot spot on my router?

I'm trying to go into a professional FINANCIAL  business and value my routers security integrity. Work in the government is not the main  point of focus here. I need the EE WIFI HOTPOT OFF STRAIGHT AWAY please. How?

I'll wait 48 hours to 72 hours. Hope.
