EE smart wifi plus
Just switched from BT to EE. On BT we had 4 x white discs to try and cover the house, its a long house and old with thick walls often made of cob which really impacts signal.
I’ve setup the new EE smart hub - all good
1st wifi plus extender setup, put in position and have stable aqua light.
2nd wifi plus setup and moved to next position, it’s light is orange once in position. The app tells me it’s not got a strong signal back to router. My question then is don’t they link to each other, like the BT white discs did? If all they do is try and connect back to the router then it’s not going to extend my network far.
Have I got this right? Thanks.

You misinterpreted my reply. I was confirming that the units *can* be used in a daisy chain operation, not the inverse.

I have just converted from BT to EE.
I have been told to use my old BT Router and have been sent Smart Wifi Plus to extend the coverage.
I have used the WPS and have got an Aqua on the Smart Wifi Plus. I take the box to place it somewhere and as soon as I switch it on (one yard or 20 yards from router) all it does is flash orange.
Is this a compatibility issue BT/EE? I had the black round BT extenders before and they worked fine.
Appreciate some help...thanks

@JohnA6 smartwifi plus smart wifi is NOT compatible with the BT Router, post the model numbers from the sticker on the bottom of the extender in case you have the description wrong. There are 2 models of the EE extender one is ok the other is not.

Thanks for the prompt response. My Smart Wifi is model SW30A.

@JohnA6 Then for the BT smarthub2 the model has to be SW10A, you have the wrong one! Would put your black complete wifi units back on...
Edit: It has been reported that a single SW30A on its own, will work, but that unit was setup originally with a smarthub+ router then operated by connecting to a BT Smarthub2, only one unit remember that fact, the OP had 2 and the second one killed them both.
So if you get it paired, and it works only you can tell.
The 2 links from the earlier post, explain operation and setup issues, you can only try and post back... Do not try to mix and match the complete wifi black BT units with the EE smartwifi, you will only cause confusion on the mesh...

I have now spoken to EE and they are sending me the EE router I thought I was getting in the first place. Your intervention gave me the courage to deal with it. Thanks

@JohnA6 So to stop you heading down the rabbit hole, you need 1st keep all the BT Equipment as it does not need to go back for 60 day's and be sure that you are 100% happy with the operation. 2nd check out the BT - EE app does not work for transfer of customers, will effect if you require app control for Parental operation etc. Mostly Account transfer issues...
BT user's have a love/hate relationship with the new/old equipment ie BT was great stronger signal etc, other's EE is better so comparison's are hard, the units are not APPLES to APPLES....
DV issues for landlines, hope that you don't have one... If you do then complaints will be abundant and you need to go look at the Digital Home Phone section also, so just giving you the heads up, but hope that it all goes smooth. You know the saying pre-warned.

@JohnA6 Final comment, when you use the EE Smarthub+, will be the SH31B or SH32B, the SW30A works with it fine....
The BT Complete wifi (black disc) do not in the slightest so do not even attempt to try!
