I had 2 men with EE jackets on today come to my door. They asked who I was with and explained how sky and other providers use EE services and sell to their customers. They explained how they were upgrading the services in the area. They asked me to do a speed test and after this explained to get the new speeds they were putting in I needed to create an EE account, and sign up for one of the EE WiFi deals? I declined and said I was busy but this all seems really strange to me? They then wanted to scan a QR code after I had signed up? They didn't provide me with any ID or anything and showed up on a Saturday evening. Is this some sort of scam? Or some EE reps or associated company trying to trick people into buying EE WiFi? They were both wearing all black jumpers with an EE logo on them.

@Barney2000 It may not be a scam, but EE do NOT sell there services to any other customer such as sky to use, sky use the OR infrastructure to get the Broadband to the customers home, same as EE does, is there a new Fibre been completed recently in your home area, that may be one off the reason's for the COLD calling to try and get business. But do be warry off such, the QR code would have been to get the EE app downloaded to your phone to make it easier for you to purchase an EE package, but you have to be aware off ANY isp's termination cost's which EE will only cover to the value off £300 in total.
