EE Tech Support -;Hybrid Connect

Hi

A question for EE Tech Support please?

Long story short. I live in a rural location which is almost an hours drive to my nearest hospital. I require unbreakable broadband for my Digital Home Phone "landline" service to remain in contact with health care providers for my wife's ongoing cancer treatment.

Fortunately I have an FTTP broadband connection with EE on your Full Fibre Gigabit Essentials Package.

As my wife is classed as vulnerable, EE provided a battery backup system free of charge for my smart hub plus and ONT (thank you)

I was also informed by the EE Value Team that I would benefit from the EE Hybrid Connect system to ensure unbreakable broadband in the event that my FTTP goes down.

After trying to order several times EE are now telling me I am not eligible for Hybrid connect as the EE coverage is poor, however when I put my location into EE's own coverage checker the result for 4G is "Great Coverage" outdoors and "Good Coverage" indoors.

I have also borrowed and tested an EE SIM card in my mobile phone inside my property. The signal is showing 4 bars on 4G and 3 bars on 5G.

Please could a Tech Advisor from EE provide a definative answer as to whether EE Hybrid Connect will work at my location bearing in mind that the main use will be to maintain the Digital Home Phone "landline" service and not for heavy usage such as video streaming etc.

I can provide my postcode if necessary

Many thanks

@Richiewar Copy of the link below so you are fully aware, and quick part extract. Plus number if bars although it helps, 4g data is different, so there may be a specific reason EE will not do it.

What doesn't work with Smart Hybrid Connect

When Smart Hybrid Connect is connected to the mobile network, the following services won't work:

  • Digital Home Phone (landline)
  • Some TV channels (subscription channels)
  • TV Box Pro (if you have set them as internet channels)
  • TV Box Mini

You can still watch content on your TV app (such as TNT Sports).

And although this link below is EE guided you can gleam from it and try your current mobile operator that you use to see what you have currently service wise, it is called tethering but link will give you the idea.
