EE TV Box Mini with third party router

Caltho

Hi,

I am trying to set up a new EE TV Box Mini with WiFi connection to an Orbi RBR350 mesh system that is connected by FTTP EE broadband.

I already have an Apple TV as the main TV box, and the EE TV is working without issue connected to the same router and broadband.

Tech support has told me that it is impossible to connect the EE TV Box Mini via a third party router, but I wanted to confirm here also:

- is it possible to connect an EE TV Box Mini to the Orbi RBR350 mesh WiFi router system and EE FTTP broadband?

- how can I do this?

Thank you all in advance for any support.

Unfortunately I don’t think you can.

i had the same issue with my EERO mesh kit, tried a few things but ended up having to use the EE smart hub plus with a TP link WiFi extender to get the mini box to work.

there may be a way but I never found it.

I have come across the same problem and it is really annoying.  I have an expensive Mesh Wifi system and this strange issue will force me to use EE's router to get the EE TV mini boxes working.  It seems like some kind of forced governance by EE - but it is farcical considering EE broadband give set up instructions for using 3rd party routers instead of their own and then EE TV go and block it like this - it is as though one part of the company is not working with the other.
