EE Full Fibre Busiest Home Package

Hi All,

We have just moved to an area that is served by EE/BT. We took out the Busiest Home package, 1.6GBPS, guaranteed 1.3GBPS .

I am having an issue whereby the fastest speed I am seeing through various speed tests is around 700MBPS. Wired is no different giving me around 800MBPS. Obviously this is below the guaranteed 1.3GBPS speed that was promised. I rang EE to complain but they told me that becuase I have numerous devices on the network (I only have 12) that this speed is correct.

Is this true or are they fobbing me off? I was hoping to see speeds hit at least 1GBPS wired or wireless. So am a bit concerned. Any help would be welcomed.

Make sure your wired devices are using at least 2.5gbe ethernet ports, otherwise you will not see full speed with just 1gbe.

As for your wireless devices, you need to check if they are connection on Wifi 6 upwards.

@rareair04   Which router did EE provide you with?

As well as your devices your Ethernet cables need to be capable of running faster speeds.

You don’t say what your other devices are, but would be worth switching them off and testing with just one device that is capable of running higher speeds.

I am having exactly the same problem. We had the1.6 busiest home installed last week with a brand new fibre to house connection. With only my laptop (which has a 2.5gb Ethernet socket)  the speed at first showed as around 940, openreach engineer told me that it was bedding in and would go up. Unsure if this true. A few days later I now seem to get around 1.1gb at quiet times of day but it drops to around 880. Same as you ee say I should get minimum of 1.3gb. Now have multiple devices connected via WiFi and all working but speed on thinkbroadband speed test do not go over about 1.8 gb. I am also unable to check speed using ee app as when run I get an error message saying something gone wrong, its not you it’s us!

also can find no way to add groups. No group option in list to manage broadband, I can attempt to create a group if I want to make a schedule but all names are rejected! Am goi g to give it a few days nd the. Contact them directly as something is not right.

This insight is really helpful. I have had the package for just under a month, and I did give it a couple of weeks just to settle in, but so far nowhere near the so-called guaranteed speed of 1.3GBPS
