I’m looking to sign up for the 1.6Gb service but wanted to ask when the newly announced WiFi 7 Router will become available?

Provide them this their own terms of service say you should get it

I called the sales team this morning as I wanted to upgrade to 1.6 Gb from 900. He said they are not upgrading customers to 1.6, if you already have a contract. There is no date for when this will happen. I asked if I could at least upgrade to the WiFi 7 equipment as I had read you could, for £10 a month. He said yes you can but let me check. Computer says no. I was told that it's not setup yet on their system and to call back in 5 days. What a shambles. Months to prepare and this is their response. I suspect when I call back in five days that I will get the same reply. Awful.

I currently have the 1.6 package. I called them to ask about getting the WiFi 7 router. I spent about 20 mins listening to the rep tell about various stuff not related to anything much. I eventually asked him had he put my order in and he said he filled in the form and I will get email confirmation nothing received. It feels he was just wasting my time to fill his quota of calls. Has anyone actually received the upgraded router on the 1.6gbp package and if so what specific team did they contact.
Thanks

@gerdon Sorry not involved in anyway with the 1.6Gb/s package, believe that you have to speak to the Next Gen team as they are the specialist's regarding that product, @Bluenose_Dave has published the direct line number to that team in his post if you wish to go find it. Good luck with it all in getting, seams to be fill in form, get in line, and then it may/may not happen.

Hi Jim,
For the reply, so rep was correct they need to fill in a form on your behalf and then we wait. And it was the next gen team that I was talking too. I will check back with them
Thanks

I guarantee they have limited stock and are giving them to new customers only. That's what I read from my chat with them. They'll be available for everyone "soon".

@Wraith1273 And that is the way that it should be for any company running a business.

No doubt, but honesty would help keep customers. They are advertising in the app for people to obtain it but when you click on it, it says something went wrong on our end. It's also been doing that for weeks, advertising for me to renew with a better package, same error. It wasn't until I asked someone that they told me they weren't upgrading anyone until they are done with new customers. Just stop advertising something you can't provide then! That's just good customer service.

@Wraith1273 It's a very sticky point, when all of those 1.6gb/s package person's signed up it was and is stated that they receive the EE Smarthub+, which is capable of getting to the speed required, there is just no refuting that point, networking has always been a shared resource, and there is nothing to stop 1gb/s on cable and 600mb/s on wireless, with EE saying you can get those speeds. It is also the muted point with the lower Ethernet port, so looks like EE have made the decision, that if you want one, are on one of the top 2 tier packages, then apply and does look like it is going to be done, next couple of day's will see those early repliers hitting there doorsteps very shortly.
As a side note, how did you get on with your units, or did you just stick with the asus, remember it was all about the backhaul if memory serves me correct.

Yes correct, the backhaul was the issue, it kept reverting to 2.4 GHz backhaul, it seems to have stabilised now. I set them up with static channels and they restart every night. I still have the XT8 Asus setup. They are very good, when they don't revert to the slower backhaul. I get full 900 Mbps at the furthest point indoors and even 300 at the bottom of the garden. I would try wiring them but the missus doesn't want cables from downstairs to upstairs. I will wait until WiFi 7 is widely adopted, before moving to other devices.
