I’m looking to sign up for the 1.6Gb service but wanted to ask when the newly announced WiFi 7 Router will become available?

It is a good marketing ploy by EE making the 1.6gb/s very desirable, because most customers cannot have it.
Once you have it you will then want to advertise the fact by adding 1.6gb/s as a footer on your community posts 😂

I’m currently on FF 900 so will I be able to get the new router? @JimM11 I thought you meant the new hardware wasn’t compatible with TV/DV rather than the package.
i should’ve made it clearer I’m interested in the new hardware once available not the 1.6gbps package

@Colesey No, as far as documented, the current router from BT the smarthub2, and the EE Smarthub+ are good up to the 1Gb/s packages, anyone previous who has upgraded to the 1.6Gb/s will be getting offered the new Pro hub and one smart wi-fi, and anyone who now upgrades and if the higher speed is available to THEM, then they also get the latest pro also, and this would also include that EE have stock's of the required equipment to supply. The forum will not see what is going on for possibly another few weeks, so keep checking back. Hope that answers your question and do read the posted links.👍

@Ewan15 Did you ever answer what was available to you with the speed test on the other post that you posted up?

@Ewan15 Anyone who knows there requirements and has a specific need for for such packages will do so if it is available and the costing is right for them, the casual BB internet user does not require anywhere near this kind of speed, and hopefully take not, or fine control will be getting applied to even more availability to user's, there is only so much bandwidth available.

I’m sure I read in an article it’s going to made available as an add-on to anyone on an 150mbps+ package?
13-09-2024 09:44 AM
No, it's a top tier router worth £400+ if you want to buy it seperately from other brands - and using the brand new WiFi 7.
It wouldnt make sense to have it on less than 500Mb but really it'll be for 1Gb or more and at launch, from what I know, only the 1.6Gb package.

Yes it’s WiFi 7 but we don’t know it’s top tier until we’ve got it and it’s free of any issues unlike the SH+. EE have already said anyone on 150mbps plus will be able to get it as an add-on. I’m on 900mbps but would still like it so if in future I upgrade to 1.6gbs I won’t need to switch equipment.

@Colesey There is not much detail about addon package pricing, no doubt in the future everything will forth coming!

Yep I’m sure it’ll be ironed out in the coming weeks
