Download speed keeps dropping from 300Mbps to 150Mbps

I've been an EE FTTP customer for about 16 months.  Before then I was with BT also on FTTP.  I was on a 150Mbps download plan for both.   My broadband has always been 100% reliable,

Last week I upgraded to 300Mbps.  I received notification from EE that the upgrade had happened.  However, my download speed was still 150Mbps.  I tried rebooting my router.  Still on 150Mbs.  I then rebooted the ONT and finally I got 300Mbps.

Today when I checked the speed of my broadband, the FTTP connection was running back at 150Mbps.  I could only get it back to 300Mbps by rebooting the ONT and router.

Any suggestions please?

@jaybeetooee The EE Hub should have nothing to do with the speed switch, so if you can leave the hub powered up and switch the ONT off for five minutes, once it has had that time, power the ONT on again should take about 2 mins for the ONT to boot up, then when your hub is online speed test again to see what you have.

If on the new system or a newer hub, the EE app gives you two speed indications, the speed to the hub is one, the other is the speed to the device wired or wireless, just remember that the network is shared and you may have to allow for possible other devices operating in the background if not disabled.
