Do Smart WiFi Plus Boxes work with other routers?

Hi all,

Saw a member on here post his TP Link router speeds with the 1.6 bundle.

Does anyone know if the Smart WiFi Plus boxes work with this/other router(s)?

I’m a bit of a novice re: broadband/wifi but keen to learn how to maximise my 1.6 bundle.

My Hub had to be placed at my doorway and is causing me to get only 400mb in my living room with a Smart Plus box at the halfway mark. Looking to learn any solutions if possible.

Thanks for any help.

@29CC Link below explains if OR have fitted the right ONT box for the higher speeds and further what that OP endured to get working system.

@29CC I have the TP Link deco BE 65 and it’s absolutely amazing for WiFi speeds and parental controls etc. I have 2 units one downstairs in the living room. The other upstairs on the landing over a Ethernet back haul. Speeds are fantastic plus you get 4 2.5Gig ports on both units.

Thanks!

how does it work with 2 units (are they the same router? Or an extender)?

@29CC Both units are the same. The first one will act as the main router to the ONT when setting it up. The second unit acts as a repeater if you use Ethernet or wireless. But I’ve gone with a wired back haul for a more reliable connection throughout my home. Highly recommend this WiFi 7 mesh system.
