Hi
I made an enquiry to another provider and in their charges section they mention an amount of £200 in order to connect up a property which currently doesn't have a (fibre) broadband connection, Would it be similar with EE? If there were any difficulties would it be possible to cancel and switch to 5G mobile broadband via a hub? It's a 2nd floor flat that I'm moving to and in Glasgow City. The road has fibre broadband but the property doesn't appear to have any high speed connections.
Thanks for any relevant info
Louise

Just to mention, there is a CATV access cover nearby but then a paved area...

@Louise_W_515 Not sure why the EE site gives you an error, it works fine for me.
In any case, as you already have a phone line in the property there is no need for laying a new line, the phone line can be used to provide FTTC/G Fast.
No doubt the the line will not have been used for a while, so there may well be a £50 reconnection fee.

There's no need to detect your location as you are giving EE your address. Being logged in here should not affect anything.
The 67 Meg quote is EE Fibre (FTTC). The 146 Meg Fibre Max quote is G.Fast. In both cases it says under Legals:
"The set-up fee of £20 is payable and will appear on your 1st bill. A credit of £20 will appear on your 1st bill and will be applied against the set-up fee". So it is free! It will cover everything incl. laying the cables.

They are phasing out landlines and landline connections. I don't think you can get 125 Mb over a phone line...

That's for Cable TV, nowt to do with BB. Fibre BB comes from pairs of green cabinets found in the streets; 1 for landlines, the other for Fibre.

Not quite true, they are phasing out the equipment in the exchange that supplies a telephone service.
The lines will carry on for as long as they need to or are replaced with fibre for the lucky ones who can get it.
G Fast allows for up to 300Mbps over a copper line, if you are close enough to the green cabinet in the street.

Yes, you can on G.Fast. You still get a landline laid but no voice services, i.e. no phone number & no dial tone.
After all EE is offering it to you.

Why different quotes in different browsers for the address I gave? It's not the setup fee I'm concerned about, it's any extra costs of putting a cable in (I'm on the 2nd floor) and see the pic I posted
Thanks

Aren't they used for internet connectivity? There's no cable tv in the flats. I have one outside my current flat and which carries the Virgin Media M125 broadband

Dunno! It shouldn't be. I never have that but I never use Edge. Try Chrome.
Whatever the charge is it'll be the same however far you are or whatever floor you're on. As it says "New line engineer charge of £50 applies" then it'll be £50 for everybody & could be free as you already have an inactive BT line already there & therefore the cabling.
