Anyone else get the continual flashing orange light on the router?
Openreach confirm no issues their end. 6th day straight with no internet
EE accept fault but issue is still ongoing.
Have to complete the following. turn off router - turn off openreach wall mounted kit - turn on openreach wall mounted kit, turn on router. This gets me back online but goes off again within 60-90 mins
Just wondered if anyone else was or did have this issue and if so how was it resolved. I have a new router on its way which EE think will fix the issue

@JimM11 Yep think everyone is struggling with this one now
Its hard because every time you speak to EE you have to start at the beginning and they ask you to do basic troubleshooting -
That is the most frustarting part - There is a man at the Exeter team who seems to know where my case is up to but you cant get him direct
I have the old BT router but it is the same issue - 60-90 mins of working with no issues then immediate fail - i am getting speeds of up to 600 on my laptop and phone then suddenly nothing - I do the reset and it comes back on after a couple of minutes but its a nightmare for work calls/ zoom
I don't really understand the last paragraph - Its a new router but same problem

@Alzyaman With the EE Router there is the Router and then the Power Supply Unit, (PSU) that plugs into the mains and connects to the little barrel socket on the back off the router, these have been a suspect fault causing router issues.
From your post, your original was messed up, EE where sending you a replacement which you said had the exact same issue, then now you have / had and tried the OLD BT router, so now 3 in total all displaying the same fault condition is everything that i have said correct?
All off those combinations 3 routers points to ONT faulty, EE stopping your system after 60 - 90 mins. When you got the replacement you swapped ALL of it out, the Router and also it's brand new PSU.

@JimM11 Yep - same issues with all three
had the EE router Smarthub which was in use when the issue started
Both I and the second OR engineer tried the old BT router with the same issue
new router installed with new power and internet cables used (all of it swapped)
so yes - 3 routers with the same problem - it does seem to point to an ONT problem doesn't it - issue is that we have had 4 OR visits who have each stated there is nothing wrong when they have come to test. I also think that the job is being closed off as complete despite me ringing in to say I have the same problem and it hasn't been resolved

@Alzyaman One off FOUR things, ONT is physically bad and that's unusual, OR have FW updated the ONT and it's got screwed up, OR have messed up the ONT profile for the ONT, or EE have messed up also as they need all the key elements to get through the OR/BT network to the ONT and onto the EE/BT Router. EE Tech support team is really where you need to go and have someone technical take a look see, everytime you power of the EE Router you wipe it clean. Just try a ONT off back on LEAVING the router alone and always powered up.
With the time limits that you are getting it does look like you are losing the wan IP that the router needs, but normal disconnect the Ethernet from the ONT wait a couple mins replug it back in can sometimes get a new wan IP, the router goes Aqua connect's and off it goes.
Was one off the test's i had you do, leaving it for an extended time period. If you know how to use the web manager interface then you can see what the system shows, but as soon as you get orange then it's all closed down...

Hi @JimM11
Just try a ONT off back on LEAVING the router alone and always powered up. - Yep tried this - It doesn't come back on and stays flashing orange
With the time limits that you are getting it does look like you are losing the wan IP that the router needs, but normal disconnect the Ethernet from the ONT wait a couple mins replug it back in can sometimes get a new wan IP, the router goes Aqua connect's and off it goes. - Tried this one as well - as did one of the OR engineers - no luck

I seem to be getting somewhere with EE and they now seem to see I have a problem - There is an OR engineer coming to the property on Friday so fingers crossed they don't just reset it and close the job off - i can do that myself

@Alzyaman Web manager interface appears when you connect to the router using a web browser, if you type http://192.168.1.254 you should connect and see the interface, admin password is required when it ask's and that is on the detail card for the router. Feel free to try, and let us know how you get on with your visit.

You have set up the Compatible WiFi SSID as well as the main WiFi.

I am currently having the same issue just awaiting an engineer coming out today

@Gemmafirth Like the original posting, are you also getting the 60-90 minute time limit, and resetting both gets you online again for the short period?
