We have about 10 devices usually connected to our router, including a Bluesound powernode speaker set up. We're finding that when someone is on a video call the speakers and/or call cut out. I've checked the hub and it seems all the devices are connecting to the 2.4 band and nothing to 5ghz. Is there a way to push/force a device to connect to one band over another or spread out the devices between the two bands?

@minch326 Nothing you can do at the EE Router level unless the Router you are using possibly has the compatible network feature that may allow you to have a separate network connection, the device connecting you may wish to find out what can be done with those.

@minch326 which router and broadband service do you have?
Are your devices capable of connecting to the 5Ghz band?
Devices often tend to connect to the strongest signal.
Even if you were able to move devices I am not sure that would solve your issues, it sounds like a lack of bandwidth issue.

We have Fibre broadband and a smart router. AFAIK the devices are fine connecting to 5Ghz, we never had an issue in our previous flat with a lack of bandwidth so I'm not sure why it's happening now

Hi @minch326
Thanks for coming to the community.
If you get in touch with our broadband tech guides, they can get this looked into for you.
Thanks 🙂

What is the router model number/name? Should be on the label somewhere?
