I've upgraded my broadband to fibre, received a new router without any additional information. I don't know if I need an engineers visit, if I should plug it in as I don't know if my new service is activated, my std broadband is working, any advice is appreciated.

What broadband package did you upgrade to? Which router do you have now, and which one have they given you?
If you post the results after entering your phone number into this checker we may be able to work it out.

As you upgraded your BB the new router will work both on the old & the new.
To check which BB you are currently on, post your full router stats from either router:
- For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings > System > DSL Status. Also post 'System Uptime' from top of System Log page.
- For a SmartHub: login and go to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information. Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username & also the SSIDs.
You should've been told of your "go live" date. Has it come to pass?
