Bills & Payments

Hi, I have just called BT to get their "Fibre 2" -24 month contract for 72-73Mbps download speed and agreed on activation for 26th of July. When logged in on the EE account it says my direct debit billing is starting on 18th of July. Can someone explain this - is this a mistake on the website and should I contact them on the phone? I have not agreed to this and was not informed that the billing period will start more than 1 week before the services were provided. I changed my billoing date from 18th on the website to 26th as we agreed on the phone and I got an email saying:

"Hi Carol,

Since your payment date has changed, your next bill might look a little different. As your services are paid in advance, your next bill may include part charges based on your new billing date."

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

@Richisor  there is no account access on here, you will need to call again.

Confused though, are you a EE or BT customer?

@Richisor ? where you a BT customer at the time when you called, sounds like 18th was the start date but CS should be able to tell you, takes a few billing cycles when DD changed before it settles. Payment always appears to be 7 days after bill is produced. You might be able to see what is going on by looking at old bills etc.

New customer, called them for the first time to get the deal offered on the BT broadband deals page, agreed on 26th to be the activation date for the internet, the 18th date was never mentioned.

I'm confused too, I called BT to get their deal, after done talking with the guy on the phone, I get EE emails welcoming me to EE... Called EE (through the number provided in the emails) regarding my issue above and after 10 minutes of waiting and explainig the issue they transfer me to a BT assistant... I have no idea what's going on but depending on how my 1st bill will look on 26th July (at the agreed activation time) I will keep their services or not.

@Richisor You are a little bit like me (mid march) move, i moved from Sky to EE but went to (BT) who was my preferred and they promptly informed me no EE is what you will be, but it was a BT person, and now recently had a call after issue when phone displayed BT Guide Calling, confused or what!!! the guide said, don't worry we are all the same, and i have access to to what is needed, OK got it. So the moral would be NO new customers to BT as consumer ISP, the contract will be with EE and that's IT..... Honestly it's been ok, little weird with billing, takes about 3 months to settle into the pattern, so i have just now got there with the Jul billing looking like everything now in alignment, but no surprises. @Richisor  when you sign up for a new service your first payment os usualy either on the day you sign up, or soon after, it is for your first months payment in advance. Your next bill often a month after you go live.

As for the EE/BT thing, the BT Group announced last year that residential customers were going to be service by EE, whilst BT were going to serve business customers. That said, even now 9 months later there is still some confusion.
