BT Smarthub2 speed v EE smarthub plus

Hi EE tech  insist on sending an openreach engineer again tommorow . It will the 2nd openreach visit this week..Both times it's due to speed guarantee  being below the  minimum of 425mbps.

I've told them, yet they dont get it .That as soon as I connect my old BT Smart hub 2 speeds return to normal..

Here's two tests . One on the EE smart hub plus, & one on the  BT smarthub 2. Both taken  on the  respective  BT and EE apps so they are speeds from the ONT to the hub

Come to the conclusion the smart hub plus would make a decent doorstop ,and that's all its good for. Shame as I need to use it ,if I want to make use of the wifi enhancer I pay extra for.

Not only are they sending an engineer again tommorow, who I am confident will find no fault. They're also sending replacement hub plus. Again. I doubt it will make a difference.

I had recently, after FW update overnight, problem, EE Smart Hub Plus dropped speed down to similar numbers, as shown your respective screenshot @v6villan

Guides on 150 were trying to blame ONT (I am on 1.6 Gbps BB package though), and were generally quite unhelpful, till I made one of them re-initialize my line (.e.g. resend respective profiles) and simply reset (with a paperclip) EE SHP SH31B,. after what it's simply getting back to normal and working fine...

Perhaps, they still insisted on an engineer visit but sent BT "home expert" instead OR Engineer - totally pointless...

Hi thanks for the reply. What version FW are you on. This is what mine is. Haven't found a way of finding what date the firmware was updated.

Last week when I had similar issues . It fixed it when I did a factory reset.

Definitely getting an openreach engineer visit again today . Last one who visited on Saturday was in house minutes said everything  fine. Also said isps always try and blame openreach  external network for faults..

Also when coneccting from 192.168.1.254. Do you find it   slow making any selection. It's like going back to dial up days.

Smart hub that's a joke it's useless.

Just done a factory reset and  it's brought speeds back.  This is the result as soon as its reset .

This has sorted the speed drop issues twice in a week now.

So it's 100 percent an issue with the so called smart hub plus. Not sure  if it was caused by a FW update or it just being rubbish . Router log provide no info .

Dont see why tech support don't see this and insist on wasting mine and an openreach  engineers time.

Not sure how this works with "ordinary" packages, but anything to do with 1.6 Gbps BB which I have seems to be impossible to deal with over regular Guides on 150 and need to be always connected to Belfast "next Gen Team" the get some sane in their answers (not to say, even them aren't always able to sort issues, but at least are knowledgeable and try their best)...

Any attempts to deal with "regular" Guides ending with nonsense and BS, including unnecessary Engineer Visits (when it's clear, it's not problem with ONT - I had all the time full speed on my own equipment, but for now keeping EE SH+ in place) sending wrong engineer (BT "Home Expert" instead ONT OR engineer - who came originally swap my ONT when service was commissioned without screwdriver :)))) back to unrealistic guessing when this or that will works...

I get, moving several thousands customers from BT to EE it's very very hard job, especially there are not always straightforward solutions, but do expect little more push to try...
