Hi there, moved from BT500 to EE900 yesterday and plugged the SmartHub Plus in today. For the first few hours saw speeds on my laptop (wifi) of 550Mbps, went out for an hour, came home and its now around 40Mbps. Nothing has changed, everyone out the house except me so confused as to why it would drop like this.
The ONT and router are on the 2nd floor at front of house, my office is ground floor at back of house so I tried a TP link extender, not much better. I'm unable to cable it so now a bit stuck really. If I go near the router its up to 800Mbps (wifi) but back down its now 26Mbps. Cant work out why it was fine this morning in exactly the same place 😞
Rebooted laptop & SmartHub Plus, nothing seems to fix. The aggregated link speed on the card (prefer 5G band) is 52/275 (Mbps) which is really poor, on the BT wifi it was always around 800/**. Is this something that happens with these EE boxes, if so Ill swap it out for the old BT SmartHub2 I think (If I'm allowed).
Fancied the WIFI 6 but cant really work with these speeds, especially when the kids get home and try to hammer it 🙂

@GaryB17 Run a www.fast.com to see what you get, FW was updated on the EE Smarthub+ and latest is below, so you may just wish to power it off for a minute as a just in case oops with it all. latest is below!
FW: r3.8.11-R-1414606-PROD-83002 and the gui is at App version 2.36.9. 23/06/2025

Thank you. That's what I use too, its currently 28Mbps downstairs and 900Mbps upstairs.
Rebooted it about 10 minutes ago, this is my FR: r2.72.2-R-1302577-PROD-83002
I'm unable to force an update as the app isn't working on Android, just times out when I choose wifi settings.

@GaryB17 No forcing FW is updated via EE normally in the early hours off the morning you have ZERO control over it! History joy!

Ahhh, I see. Still seems odd that it was flying this morning and indeed when next to the router now. Cant fathom whats changed in an hour.

@GaryB17 No idea what you are doing, but if you are laptop wifi testing, and even worse laptop on battery power further you get worse it get's from the hub!

Completely random, its just suddenly jumped to 600Mbps with aggregated link speed on the card of 1134/721 Mbps from the same location as the 26Mbps 😕
I'll keep any on it over the weekend and give CS a call if it continues. I may need to go the nuclear option and see if I can get the ONT moved. OR insisted on the location even though I said its my child's bedroom and nowhere near where it will be used.
If they'll do it, I'd rather pay the money than keep like this 😊 Anyone on here successfully gone this route via EE?

@GaryB17 You will be more successful trying to do a new Ethernet cable and moving the Router by yourself.
