1.6gb very slow today

Had Great reliable service over the last year but today the download speed has dropped from 1.6Gbps to 50Mbps, when I called they said it was a know issue with "the package" whatever that means, not a local issue. Anyone else have the same?

I restarted my ONT about 20 minutes ago and my connection went from 70/120 to completely down. I've not done anything since and as I was tailing my UniFi gateway logs I noticed CHAP authentication success, tried a Speedtest and saw it was back up and at 1.6 Gbps.

I'm still capped at 70mbps, hope it's sorted today!

Mine has been locked at 50mb since friday night.

I did try restarting modem a few times but it didnt help.

I've not done anything today in case the restart completely knocks out the internet (i work from home).

Anyone else had success today by just restarting the modem ?

Been capped from the 1600 to 100 from some point at the weekend (I only really noticed yesterday evening). This morning it was gone completely.

Chatted to EE support today who were rubbish (couldn't even get an admission that there was a widespread outage from them, just "your area is fine!").

 

But now it's just come back online at the full 1600 speed! There is hope!

(Worth adding that while I did restart the ONT a bunch of times today, it didn't need restarted to come back up, just suddenly started working)

I have turned off the router and ONT for 20 mins then turned it back on. I now have my normal speeds again at 1.6Gbps.

@pyxl8 That is what it is supposed to do, restart all by itself and back to full speed! @Lofticus Is that something you did all by yourself as a see what happens situation!

Yeah I just decided to make myself in the list of people with no internet 😂. It seems to be working normally now but keeping both off for 20mins was the only thing I did. Never got any updates from EE or called them since 8am today.

Looks like it is sorted, an ONT reboot has finally restored mine as well.

Mines now up and running full speed they said I'll get automatic compensation,mine went down Saturday zero internet ,modem just orange/red 

Any idea what auto compensation is ,guy didn't know lol
