samsung phone has completely frozen cannot switch off or anything

My phone is completely frozen and I cannot switch it off please advise as this is my only point of contact, home phone broken

Thank you for getting back so promptly. My phone is a Samsung 9+. I am so anxious, and my only form of communication apart from laptop.

You can force a reboot of the phone holding down the volume down + power button until you see the Samsung logo and let go, it will then boot up again
