My iPhone 6s overheats and the battery quickly drains unless I have it on airplane mode or switch it off. Also appears to charge very quickly. I have tried turning off Background App Refresh. There are no issues on the Battery Health page. It did show that there was a lot of background activity on the photos app where I do have a lot of photos and videos. I therefore turned off iCloud sharing. I have also Reset All Settings and plugged my phone into my laptop to ensure it was up to date. I am soon due an upgrade, so would rather not send it off anywhere and just wondered if there's anything else I can try.
Thank you!

@JKC18 What’s showing in the battery health might not be correct as it will depend on how you’ve used/charged/cycled the battery. Please have a read of THIS
The device getting hot is the battery drain fast and the hotter it gets the quicker it will drain.
it does sound like you need a new battery.
