iPhone 12 and 12 Pro preorder thread

Saw that there was an XS/XS Max thread back in 2018 and fancied seeing if anyone would respond to a new one for the iPhone 12 preorders!

Ordered myself an 128GB iPhone 12 Pro in Pacific Blue, albeit it with minimal photos showing the new colour so I'm a little nervous as someone who's gone Silver for the past few years.

Order is currently sat at Order Confirmed, Awaiting Confirmation for the delivery date but I hope this evening (as per previous years) it changes to delivery for Friday.

What phones and experiences has everyone else had this year?

I have had an update overnight and have to wait between 30 October - 2 November. Raised a complaint this morning

@Pebble1 Just had the same,

Very poor from EE.

I’m glad to hear folk are now getting a delivery date.

I cancelled mines this morning, mainly due to hearing about the worse battery. I’m happy to wait 2-3 weeks for a better phone for an extra £100

@Slav1991

in regards to the battery being “worse” - the iPhone 12/Pro have less mAh this year. Could be because the device is thinner, could be because A14 is efficient enough. I would say it isn’t technically that far behind iPhone11/Pro series.

Apple can and most likely will make software updates in the future which will help with preserving battery life. I wouldn’t worry. But it is up to you.

it still lasts over 7 hours on heavy use.

To be fair to them, this is in the news as affecting other networks too so I’m not sure its entirely EE’s doing. There will also be a large number of customers that the system has worked for yet that’s not recognised at all.

I can appreciate the disappointment a lot of people will feel (I’d feel it too) but lets not crucify them for something that might be out of their control until you actually prove that it’s not.

Oh yeah, it’s an amazing battery don’t get me wrong. I’ll remain sceptical, and I’ll probably end up waiting it out and then waiting till folk compare the pro and the pro max, then make a decision

Just had an email to confirm my order is on track!

Estimated delivery 23rd October 2020.

Update received just there, 10:59am.

Amazing. Received it yesterday at 08:44am but it's nice of them to tell me 27 hours later that its expected! 🤣

They have screwed the upgrade up as well it seems, price plan still has not changed - usually changes before delivery.

Oh, they also gave my number to someone else yesterday when I activated my new ESIM.  Took hours, nothing happened (usually almost instant) so i tried to call MY number to see if it was even active (chat support told me the port was done....an hour earlier) someone else answered!  Yes, someone else answered MY number....had to go spend an hour or more in a store, wasn't sorted till mid afternoon.

Great speeds, faster than any other network. As for everything else..... well, LOS of room for improvement 😂

@Slav1991 iPhone 12 pro max has a 7% less battery mAh than last years.

it will all depend on what Apple does software wise to make it on par or better than last years.

I have just been offered an upgrade to iPhone 12 from EE for £47 a month with 64gb, BUT guess what dropped through my letterbox this morning and offer from SKY iPhone 12 for £34 a month with 4gb.!

I am a valued customer of EE.!!

The offer from Sky Mobile will probably be over a 36 month airtime agreement
