iPhone 12 and 12 Pro preorder thread

Saw that there was an XS/XS Max thread back in 2018 and fancied seeing if anyone would respond to a new one for the iPhone 12 preorders!

 

Ordered myself an 128GB iPhone 12 Pro in Pacific Blue, albeit it with minimal photos showing the new colour so I'm a little nervous as someone who's gone Silver for the past few years.

 

Order is currently sat at Order Confirmed, Awaiting Confirmation for the delivery date but I hope this evening (as per previous years) it changes to delivery for Friday.

 

What phones and experiences has everyone else had this year?

@Bgreen fairly certain it's just the consignment number you're emailed upon order confirmation.

What a joke.

 

I tried to order Friday just after 1pm. They couldn't put the order through, systems issue. Then got a call back saying the system had gone down and would call me Monday.

 

They did order reprocessed and all ok. Assume a lot of you were fobbed off with want to check address etc because a lot of your orders actually didn't go through on the Friday.

 

I spoke to someone today who said mine was in the warehouse waiting to be picked by DPD but gave no time frame of when it will come as they don't know.

 

Absolute shower of $ht for customer service are EE. The people on the phones are polite enough but have no info and are lead to fob and not commit to anything.

 

Having them communicate an accurate time of expected delivery when they have over promised isn't too much to ask for is it? We can all then make a call on whether to wait or not.

 

Considering cancelling my order and leave EE when current contract expires. Lets face it, plenty of other options out there where I wont have to pay 87 quid for 2 years.

Also, they cant even get the link for help right in the order confirmation email!

Order cancelled, spent all week in the dark, no communication to customers and changing my expected delivery date from the 23rd to awaiting confirmation at 2AM this morning? Scummy to say the least.

 

Wouldn't have cared if you'd actually communicated, instead I had to call your customer services to get clear information about my order. 

I downloaded the dpd app, at set it up with details such as First Name and Last Name that I provided EE. Along with the address and phone number. Just make sure all detail you provide in dpd app should be similar to the one you provided to EE. once you're done setting up, dpd will automatically show active parcel from dpd.

So spoke to a store and also the EE Twitter account

this is what the chap said

 

“Thanks for waiting ***** I've had a look at the order, and it is showing as an 'Open Sales Order' which means it has not been dispatched yet. When I look at the stock, it is showing that any orders for the iPhone 12 Pro 256GB Pacific Blue after 9:30 on 18th October have an expected dispatch time of up to 14 days, so it is going to be with you just yet.”

 

so when I asked why the we customer person said that it was definitely coming today he said:

 

“Our team do get updates so they can give the correct information on delivery times, so I am sorry that you weren't told this. Once it is on the way, we'll drop you a text to let you know when it will be delivered.‘

EE store in Enfield have all versions of the iPhone 12 in store but the Pro has to be ordered. 

the above just goes to highlight why people on this thread are frustrated. Many are/have sold their current devices and are going on the confirmations that they received on email. For this then not to be ‘first come first served’ is understandably annoying and should have been explained from day 1. Also, the preordering system after 10 years of regular iPhone releases still hasn’t improved? 

the fact it took the social media team to look into this and give an honest answer is bizarre.

Mine doesn’t even say any active deliveries on the app 😞 I ordered mine last Friday and called them beginning of the week coz they wanted to confirm address and also asked if I wanted anything with the phone ie case or insurance. They said it would be here by Friday 23rd
