iPhone 12 and 12 Pro preorder thread

Saw that there was an XS/XS Max thread back in 2018 and fancied seeing if anyone would respond to a new one for the iPhone 12 preorders!

Ordered myself an 128GB iPhone 12 Pro in Pacific Blue, albeit it with minimal photos showing the new colour so I'm a little nervous as someone who's gone Silver for the past few years.

Order is currently sat at Order Confirmed, Awaiting Confirmation for the delivery date but I hope this evening (as per previous years) it changes to delivery for Friday.

What phones and experiences has everyone else had this year?

@Kyemaloy I received a text on the 19th with the order details and a link to follow; the same link that takes me to “awaiting dispatch in 24 hours”. At the top there’s a 12 digit number which I assume is the DPD tracking number (as DPD use 12 digit tracking numbers). It’s also different to the EE order number that I received on the email confirmation. Maybe check? It should start with 00 I think.

Yup, this is exactly what happened to me. Ordered at 2pm on Friday. Website stated delivery on launch day, confirmation email stated delivery on launch day, EE staff said delivery on launch day. Portal hadn’t updated today so I called. Turns out EE hadn’t processed my order correctly and I may now be waiting up to 3 weeks. They did manage to process my £220 early upgrade fee pretty quickly, though so thanks for that. I’ve been with EE for 8 years and am now considering cancelling my pre-order and my contract altogether and go with Sky or 02. Sounds petty but they’ve over promised and under delivered by a country mile. Really disappointed. I should also note than my fiancée ordered on 02 about 8 hours after me - being delivered tomorrow. Sister-in-law ordered today with Vodafone - delivery promised by next Wednesday yet here I am on the UK’s “best network” looking at a 3 week wait.

It won’t be delivered tomorrow. I have the same message - if you pre-ordered last Friday it means EE didn’t process your pre-order correctly. CS & Digital Sales Team confirmed they have no idea how long it’s going to be but it certainly won’t be tomorrow and could be up to 3 weeks.

@iPhone1233 are you serious? So you’re telling me that because I ordered on Friday I won’t be getting my phone tomorrow... that’s such a joke...

When did you get your DPD tracking information (normally comes in a volley of 3 emails). If you got that a few days after you actually placed the pre-order then it’s really unlikely you’ll get it tomorrow. I had to pay an early upgrade fee as well (paid it to make sure I got the phone on launch day) but now looks like my next bill will be paid before the phone arrives. If that’s the case, I’ll be expecting EE to refund the early upgrade difference (should be about £60). Hope we both get it tomorrow but I can’t see it happening.

Just tried chat and was told none are arriving till Monday 26th... told her that definitely wasn't the case as per this thread and plenty of people having tracking numbers for tomorrow and she just said Monday. Only person to tell me that so far, all she offered was to raise a complaint for me, but she also spelt come as **bleep** so...

Not really sure how I feel right now, very agitated that I preordered at 12:55pm and got a 23rd slot and have somehow not even been dispatched yet, when it was picked at 5pm yesterday... so its just waiting to go onto a truck.

Do not believe them. Somehow, they just do not know what they are talking about.

I pre-ordered as soon as the site switched on (just before 1pm) and the payment processed by 13:04. I received ONLY one email at 13:04 with an xko ref. Nothing else after that.

The order tracker ONLY works if I put my email address in, doesn't show anything if I use my mobile number.  it still shows as expecting to dispatch within 24 hrs.

DPD have allocated the collection now, for delivery tomorrow.

the same farce every single year.

Rule 1 - don't listen to EE (SOME know what they are talking about, most don't!)

Rule 2 - see rule 1!

Keep an eye on the EE app 🙂

The problem is that at previous launches, it was Apple who didn`t had stock in time. But this time EE messed up the orders, so if u ordered before tuesday u will not have a phone tomorrow, but if u ordered after probably one will be delivered to u very soon. I found this messed up and disgusting

Again, this is not true!

I ordered just before 13:00 last FRIDAY, I paid by 13:04, the upgrade was confirmed. DPD will deliver tomorrow before 10:30.

I was aware of the issues Friday so actually phoned Sat at 8am to make sure the order had gone through. He took the £30 payment for my upfront fee there and then and the order number began working with the tracking site using the new 00xxxxx order number.

I rang them yesterday and was told they have picked my phone and its just waiting to be shipped, was confirmed earlier today as well.

Just seems something is going on with my shipment, which is ridiculous.

There is some truth to it. CS even confirmed on the phone, earlier, that a number of pre-orders were not dealt with until days later meaning some who pre-ordered later will get their phones sooner. Not sure how many affected.
