Good afternoon,
I purchased into a new contract with a Sony Xperia 5 ii in February but have been having intermittent issues when making and receiving calls, I can hear others perfectly but they cannot hear me.
I have used the built in diagnostic tool and the microphone works fine, it also advised to restart the phone which fixes the issue for about 5 minutes when it returns again.
This fault is now permanent unless you restart the phone all the time, I found on another forum this may be a sim card issue?
Can anyone help???

Hi Katie,
No it has only improved the connection problem as phone struggles to work out if its using WiFi or cellular calling, but problem still exists with people being able to hear me.
Regards
Liam

Not to pile on, but I have the same issue on my Xperia 5 mk III. Microphone does not work until I hang up and call them again.
This is not just with the stock phone app, but other apps too.
I have not tried a factory reset yet, but I have checked app permissions and settings. The SIM card came out of my old phone that was working perfectly, but that was a very old phone

Sorry, only just noticed your message as i didn't receive a notification you had replied (unfortunately)
Yes both phones are on the latest software and yes I have tried factory reset.
I had an emergency call from my daughter today which took over 5 minutes to be able to actually speak to her due to this issue and then having to restart after attempting the call a few times.
I have been speaking with Sony and they are asking me to try a different SIM card on a different network. As this is a fault which happens randomly I don't know about swapping phones with someone on a different network to test this as we could be swapped for a day or weeks before the issue happens.
Any other advice you can give?
