in an area where I have been using it for years, 4.2 GB of data left, mobile data turned on, on my Moto phone, and Aeroplane mode off?!

This site suggests that there is a point to asking a EE question about EE

Hi @HollowayRoad

Welcome to the community.

I'd recommend restarting your device. If the problem still happens, I'd suggest checking your postcode on our network status checker. It will let you know if we're aware of any maintenance works in your area.

Thanks, I did this. The coverage and network checker for the postcode said excellent and no problems.

OK thanks for checking, @HollowayRoad. 🙂

Are you able to make calls and send texts? Do you know if anyone else on EE is affected with the same problem?

Hi, I can make calls and send texts successfully!

I discovered now that when I go to Settings, Network & Internet, Mobile data, mobile data is switched off despite my having turned it on just previously. I have tried this several times. So Mobile data reverts itself to set at off despite being set by me to on.

Mobile data logo at the top of the screen by WiFi, Torch, Bluetooth, etc, is set to off . When I tap it takes me to the SIM cards screen, which shows SIM slot 1 as set to on.

How strange, @HollowayRoad.

So it won't let you switch on mobile data? I think it may be worth speaking to our Tech Gurus to see if they can help figure out what's happening.
