Hi
I recently bought a new S10 phone, my old phone was an S7. I just swapped over the Sim and most things work.
However I now have no option to get read receipts for texts, and read on another forum this might be an issue with the network provider.
Also in the EE app my phone still shows up as an S7.
Do I perhaps need a new Sim, or do EE need to send me some text updates to modify my current Sim? I haven't told them yet about the upgrade.
Thanks
Robin

@Vonsworld What phone you use is up to you and it’s got nothing to do with EE, the device shown on your account is just a device shown on your account and it means nothing. You don’t need a new Sim card if your current Sim card fits your new device. The device shown on your EE account will update on its own in due course.

There should be an option for "request delivery reports" or similar, under your text message settings.
The rest of your message implies that you've bought a SIM-free phone. Whilst it shouldn't matter for such a generic setting, it would be helpful to clarify.

Yes I bought a Sim free renewed S10 phone from Amazon. It looks like new, although must be 2 years old, and has Android 11 loaded.
The option for text read receipts is missing from the menu. This is a problem other users have experienced, and reading other forums some people blame the last Samsung update, whereas other say it's a problem with the sim or provider.
I don't know the answer yet, I am hoping in time it may just correct itself! 😊
