Update for those waiting on iPhone 12 Pro

Hello

 

If you're waiting on an iPhone 12 Pro, I have some bad news for you.

 

Like many others, I have been waiting for my new iPhone (128gb in graphite) to be delivered today, however, no updates and no communication all day from EE on social media or by SMS letting us know what's going on prompted me to contact them.

 

I have just come off the phone to their customer support and I was categorically told they have zero stock and it will take up to 14 days for new handsets to be delivered, this is despite being told over the phone it would be with me today (got the impression they had minimal stock and were never going to be able to meet the demand). Had I known about this 14 day wait, I wouldn't have committed to paying £350.00 upfront as I need the phone for work purposes.

 

Cancelled my order and will be shopping about now. Seriously disappointing how badly EE have handled this today. One of the worst parts of this is that the people I spoke with didn't even sound bothered, barely got an apology!

When did you order yours?  

I think most people know that obviously due of covid that companies are struggling to meet demands. 

Wednesday, however, I was categorically told over the phone it would be with me today. Had I been told a 14 day wait, I would've accepted this and not proceeded with the purchase. 

I also don't think most people know, you just have to go on Twitter to see how many people feel let down. Very poor.

Customer services would have just seen a screen telling them delivery from 23/10. They won’t have complete access to up too date stock numbers from apple.  Also Wednesday is a long time after preorder to expect delivery on Friday. 

The issue I have is staff told me it would be with me today. If they’d told me it could take up to 14 days, I would’ve accepted that and not paid £350 upfront. 

So are we saying that a company worth billions of pounds hasn’t got a simple database that knows how many units they are getting and that it also isn’t able to keep a tally of orders which it can then update and say to those ordering ‘we have run out of initial consignment and it will be up to 14 days to get your phone, just so that you are aware’ ? 

This could have been avoided

I’m waiting for my iPhone 12 pro Max, do u know how long roughly I’ll be waiting, I ordered it 2 weeks ago 

i ordered my Iphone 12 pro Gold (128GB) back on Oct 30, still haven’t heard anything back and the recent SMS msg i got was “order on the way, your device will be with you shortly” and that was on Nov 27th and STILL nothing, it’s now Dec 1st! oh and no email or msg from the DPD either!
