Bought an iphone xr locked to ee, called about unlocking and was told they would send a form off and contact me by email when its ready to unlock. This was 12 days ago, contacted ee again 4 days ago and they said they dont know about the unlock and will send the form and it should be done in the next few days, and still no email or any idea if its going to be unlocked or if i will get an email about it. What should i do?

@alfarmiloe   As the first unlock wasn’t processed you’ll now need to wait till 10 days have passed before you can get this escalated.  EE try to do this within 72 hours but do say you need to allow up to 10 days.

As this device is only available on contract then six months must of passed since it was originally purchased from EE.

But have you got an EE sim ?  If you have put it in the device and text UNLOCK to 150 as EE automatically unlock iPhones after 17 months.

You can also check to see if the device is already unlocked by going to Settings>General>About and scroll down to Network Provider Lock.   If it’s says No Sim Restrictions the device is unlocked already.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi I have tried an EE sim and sent UNLOCK to 150 but it sends a message about logging on to an iCloud account to check the status. IT already is logged into my iCloud so it looks like that won't work. It says in the settings that its sim locked to EE. Would it be better to have a phone shop Unlock the phone or would i be waiting the same amount of time?

@alfarmiloe   No shops are open at the moment and if it’s not EE doing this any other shop will only ask EE to do this.  Only network providers can request Apple to unlock an iPhone.  Apple controls the network locks on iPhone.

If you send UNLOCK to 150 you should see this message

An iCloud account has nothing to do with a network unlock of a device.   Can you please post the message (screen shot) you got from when you texted UNLOCK to 150.    Remove any personal information from the message.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Cant post a photo.

it says please add an iCloud account to fully activate your device and check the unlock status. Visit ee.co.uk/ help
