Unlocking after leaving

Hi I’ve just finished my contract with EE
pac code used and the number transferred
is there a way to now unlock my phone ?
The contract term has ended so all paid up and nothing owed

Where did you yourself get this device itself originally? Did you buy it yourself new direct from EE or from a 3rd-party reseller or is it 2nd-hand? The unlocking process & costs are different.
