I recently bought a EE sim and wanted to transfer my old Giffgaff number to EE. I have done all the necessary things they instruct you to do. EE said to me that they would send me a confirmation email after that but did not send me one. Its been 4 days since I sent the request.. They have sent me messages such as "Request cannot be completed as unregistered PAYG account", and " Request cannot be complete as number porting out".
Does anyone know what this means?
Thanks

Hi @chan_3.
If you can get in touch with our Customer Care team, they will be able to register your pay as you go account.
They will also be able to give you an update on your number port progress.

Hi @chan_3
Is your EE phone/SIM live on the (temporary) EE number at the moment?
Apologies, but I'm not clear from your post if this is a problem with your EE phone not working, or just an issue with the number port from GG.

@bristolian Hey,
It’s more of a SIM issue.
The phone I’m using isn’t an EE phone I simply just bought an EE pay as you go sim and now I am their new customer.
Hope that helps 🙂

Hi,
Sorry, but I'm unclear what your issue is.
I understand you've bought a new EE PAYG SIM and are wanting to port your existing GG number onto it.
Is your EE SIM live and working, albeit on an EE-issued number? And therefore the issue is with your number port?
Or is your EE SIM not working, irrespective of number port?
You will likely need to call EE C/S in either case, but it may still be useful to establish what the issue is.

@bristolian hey
sorry. Yes my EE sim is live and I do have an EE number. I was just wondering what they meant by “Request is not completed as number porting out” etc.
I believe it may not be an entire issue of my old number not being transferred (yet) but rather an issue of clarity as to what is happening

Who was it that said “Request is not completed as number porting out", your wording implies this was GG?
You will be best calling EE C/S to resolve this.
