Transferring data to new Apple Watch

PugBrothers

Hi All,

I received an Apple Watch SE as a gift and tried to set it up this morning. I currently have an Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular with a data plan that has a 50% discount applied to it.

I paired the new Watch and tried to set up mobile data. The screen shows a prompt saying that a mobile plan already exists with the option to ‘replace’ my plan. I selected this, and it asks for me to call 150 and quote a number to an agent.

I did all the above this morning, quoting a 32 digit e-sim number and allegedly got everything transferred over, but despite repeated resets and re-syncs I keep getting an identical screen prompting me to call 150 as if nothing has happened.

How long does it take for the watch to be added to my account? I note that my current contract still shows my old watch as the one with the data plan and no mention is made of my new watch.

I’ve spent a day trying to figure this out and really at a loss - I’ve tried other methods mentioned in other posts with absolutely no luck at all.

Any wisdom will be extremely gratefully received.

Thanks so much,

Paul

I know a while back when I was having issues getting mobile data set up on my Apple Watch. I was given the below number. From memory, I think it gets you through to the dedicated Apple Watch team. After a call to them, everything was working for me.

0800 079 5330

Thanks for that - I actually saw your other post and called this number this morning! It went through to a tech support person, then someone who I assume specialised in Apple products. They were really nice on the phone, it’s just that they said after re-pairing it should be a matter of hours at most for my previous data plan to transfer to my new watch. It’s about 12 hours now, so I’m assuming that was incorrect, or something is a bit wrong.

Part of me is wondering if it actually takes a few *days* for the data plan to migrate - hopefully someone reading this might know, one way or the other.

I can't be certain, but I think it was only a short time after the call, that things were up and running for me.

I would give it till tomorrow morning and call the number I provided back, and see what is holding it up.
