My father has an old Nokia brick, which I am interested in as retro handsets are of interest to me. However, the battery lid says T Mobile which I assume means that it's locked to T Mobile. I know that T and EE merged, so I was wondering: will my 4g EE Sim card work on this 2006 Nokia? I can't use it as the screen just says "Insert Sim". Any ideas?

@--1 The device will need to be unlocked to use the EE sim and it should work but you’ll not get 4G on it. But with you saying it says insert sim after you’ve put a sim in it it sounds faulty as it shouldn’t say insert sim but a error message. But depending on how old it is who knows if this is the message for a wrong SIM card. You’ll need to get it unlocked and to be honest you’ll probably find someone on eBay who can unlock this for you. To request it from EE it’ll cost £8.99 if you don’t know the original number that was used in this device. Do you know the original number ?
