Hi, I have a sim unlimited data deal with EE which I use in a router for Wi-Fi . I also have my mobile phone with Virgin and the contract has expired. I need a new phone as my Samsung is over 4 years old and starting to show it's age.
I'm after a basic phone package with a basic newer version of my Samsung as I make very few calls or texts and just want to combine it with EE to save having different accounts.
I do need to keep my Virgin number. Can anyone advise as I am not very good with all the different options. Basically I need a new basic phone and a basic cheap contract and keep my old number.
Thank you (please keep it simple)

Hi @smudger699
I'd recommend a browser of the EE online shop to find a phone & plan package that suits you.
Then once you're ready to buy your chosen phone, take a read of this EE help article which explains the process for moving your number.
You'll need to obtain a PAC from Virgin and give that to EE which also serves to cancel your contract with them.

Thank you for your reply. Think I will go to Tesco do the same phone Samsung a21 unlimited text and calls and 3 g of data and NO upfront costs for £15 a month. Shame as a EE customer thought would get a better deal.

As an existing EE mobile customer, you should get a 10% discount on line rental for any additional lines you take out.
I suspect the plan with Tesco you're looking at is a 3year contract, whereas EE deals are generally 2years.
Also bear in mind Tesco is what's known as a "MVNO" or a virtual operator. They don't actually operate a network of their own, but "piggyback" on, in their case, O2. EE is a network operator and this can sometimes make a difference - depending on your circumstances.
Just a few things to bear in mind, when comparing providers. You need to choose the provider who best suits your needs, but do so on an informed basis 😉
