Store missed to apply my NHS discount

Hi, 

I am a loyal customer of EE for many years. 

Today I have upgraded to Samsung S21. 

I asked the colleague in the store to apply my NHS discount, he said I have to do it later with the purchase. But I can read lot of info that it must be used by the time you upgrade. 

How can I get my 20% discount on my monthly bill. thank you.
