We have electric gates that open when I ring or text the EE sim card we use in there. We have used them for 2-3 years no problems. I rang the gate the other day to let someone out and got the message "the number you have called is switched off" and so gates would not open.
Once I pressed the intercom manually at the gates this seemed to resolve the issue and afterwards let me ring to open them again.
This has happened a few times recently and don't understand why it would give me the message the number I have called has been switched off???
Bit of a problem, if we are out we can no longer let tradesmen/people in and out of drive.
Any help. Do I need a new sim??? Thanks.
Marie

Is it on contract or PAYG? If PAYG when did you last spend money on it?

Hello @MS144
Welcome to the community
Is this a PAYG or pay-monthly SIM? This will identify whether hibernation could be involved here.
Do other EE phones in the same location have any coverage issues? This will identify whether there is a local network problem causing this.

It’s a pay monthly sim and my mobile is Ee with no signal problems.
Used for last 2 years so assume signal isn’t the problem
also once I’ve pressed intercom button at gate it seems to reset it and all of sudden works again (till next day) 😩

Hi @MS144
Thanks for coming to the community.
Are you able to try the SIM card in a phone to see if the same happens?
Thanks 🙂
Leanne.
