Hi, I just upgraded my contract and received a new Samsung s20. The problem is that even tho I have activated the new sim I received with the phone ,I am still receiving a sim 1 not allowed error ,and have an "emergency calls only" , message showing . Any ideas?

Hi @MihaiGrecu

Welcome to the community.

Could you restart your phone this morning and let us know if it's working now?

Chris

Hi.

Unfortunately, the same message is showing. I have tried the same sim in my old EE phone, and it works just fine , so it has something to do with the new phone.

Did you upgrade directly with EE, @MihaiGrecu?

Could you try backing up your information and restoring your phone to factory settings?

I know it's a new phone, but if there's a software problem, this could fix it.

Let us know what happens.

Chris

Hi.

I have upgraded directly thru the "myee" app. I have reset the phone to the factory settings, still no good, the same messages are showing.

Did this issue get solved?  I've just got a S20 and my ee sim card does not work in sim1 but it does work in sim2.
I need it to work in sim1 to use an SD card in sim2.

My EE sim works in both my old phone and wife's phone.

I've check the IMEI numbers and both say Carrier: OPEN so presume it's not locked to another network

Call ee up and ask them to unblock the phone they had blocked my note 10+ when I had it

Amazon. It's a refurbished model. Advertised as unlocked.  It's under amazons guarantee and I've sent a message to the seller.

Can a phone still be locked even when the "carrier" says "open"?

Is there a way to check which network it was in before hand?

Troubleshooting this, its either a network issue or a motherboard issue, as none of the software updates, restarting or resetting, seem to work. And the sim works instantly when put in sim2. Don't even need to restart. It just works.

Are there any other issues I'm not thinking of?
