Samsung 21 Ultra 5G

I have the Samsung 21 Ultra and cannot use apps such as WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Outlook etc unless connected to WiFi. Have been in to the EE shop and they said it was sim card so replaced it but its not made any difference. Speaking to others they seem to have the same problem in accessing their data when WiFi not available. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

@Phippsycrabtree : It could be your Switching Content Lock OFF or ON . It is switched on on new & upgraded contracts & seems to affect social sites. If just switching it OFF doesn't help, try switching it to STRICT, reboot your device and then switching it to OFF. That is seeming to do the trick.

@Phippsycrabtree   You have enabled cellular data for these apps ? Outlook will not be restricted by content lock as it’s a email client not a social media app such as Facebook.

There is no age restrictions on email.

Yes, I would not expect content lock to affect email but the others, it has that feel about it..

With WiFi off and SIM data on, does opening a browser and visiting https://news.bbc.co.uk work? Does Google Play work? 🤓

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately not no with WiFi off I can't access the browser or play

Have you enable mobile data in your Android or iPhone settings?

Have you previously been able to use mobile cellular data before, perhaps on another phone or another SIM so would have a good idea of whether things should or should not be working?

Edit: as you've previously taken the issue into an EE store and had the SIM replaced, I think it's worth taking it in again and asking them to try the new SIM in another phone. If the experts with physical access are unable to solve the issue, remote suggestions will likely be made with incomplete information (e.g. not being able to see the settings on the phone).
