Today my SIM card stopped working powering off and back on doesn't fix it, will i need a new SIM?

Are you on EE PAYG or pay monthly contract?
Did you purchase your device from EE?

I have just tried the SIM in my husbands phone and it's saying the same in his (no sim card) so i presume its the SIM......when I put his own sim back in it was fine
I've had my phone about 2 years a Samsung S7
