Re: Ipv6 for home broadband

I have recently switched to EE and am trying to reconnect by Nest Protect devices to the new home wifi network. Unfortunately I can not get it working and it appears to be due to a requirement for IPv6 which is not supported by the EE router.

Has anyone found a workaround to get the Nest Protect device to connect?

UPDATE: I have got it working by switching the EE router wifi mode to MODE2 rather than the default MODE1. If anyone has a solution while still keeping MODE1 I would love to know...

@tim-e : This will have nowt to do with IPv6. As confirmed by changing the Wireless Mode.

For an EE Smart Hub, but not an EE Smart Router, try separating the wireless channels. On the Advanced / Wireless Settings page of the SH there is a button near the top to Separate the Bands. Turn it ON. Then the 5GHz SSID will appear starting with "5GHz-" & the 2.4 GHz SSID not starting with "5GHz-". Then connect your devices to the 2.4 GHz SSID if they can't do 5GHz. The Smart Router doesn't allow this.
