Problems porting number from Vodafone

Hello,

 

My contract with Vodafone expired and I've switched to a SIM-only deal with EE.
When I ordered the SIM on Jan 17, I provided EE with my PAC code. The lady on the EE helpline said that as soon as I used my new SIM it should trigger the transfer, so I made a few calls and a messages on my EE SIM but nothing. When I called again on 21 Jan, I was told that my transfer was scheduled for Tue 26 Jan. 

 

Here we are today, and I've received no indication that my number will be ported today. Very disappointed with this, as I've had no problems porting numbers with other networks.

Hi @therealMasa 

 

EE's guidance for number porting timescales is on this page, under "how long does it take".

 

If you've been advised that your port should be happening today, then I'd recommend waiting until later tonight (you may receive a text to say it's complete), before restarting your phone and testing again.

 

If you are at all unsure or concerned, I would recommend calling EE C/S on 150 - they will have access to your specific account and can advise further.

As per the help page, it says the number should be transferred the next working day if submitted before 5.30pm. It's now been almost a week since I activated by EE SIM. When I called customer care before, they said that everything was fine, no problems with the PAC code, just it's backlogged to today for some reason. If there's no progress today, I guess I will have to call 150 again.

I would suggest giving us a call on 150, the team can check if the number transfer has started and give you an update.

I called 150 and spoke to a very helpful agent. He contacted the specialist team who deal with porting numbers. Apparently, there is a "STAC" code on the number that is preventing it from transferring automatically? I don't quite understand, as I thought a STAC code was if you wanted a new number? I'm trying to transfer my old Vodafone number.

 

It might take another 72 hours to manually transfer my number, but he has applied credit on my account for the inconvenience.
