Potential scam text?

Hi I received a text message recently saying ‘we’re freshening up our sim plans’ and offering me a new 12 month plan at a certain price or moving onto a rolling plan at a higher price which I have to act on by 23rd august. It seems legit initially but when I log into my account on the app, all I have are standard upgrade offers, not including this offer, and no mention of this refresh anywhere. There is a link in the text which I’ve clicked on which goes to ‘simoffers.we.co.uk’ but I haven’t dared click on any further links or log into my account via this link in case it’s dodgy. Anyone know if this is genuine or not?

It is not a genuine link, and I suspect it has a dodgy one hidden inside that link.

apologies just realised an auto-correct error when I wrote the link- it goes to ee.co.uk not we.co.uk

It's still not a valid link, as I said, I suspect if you click on it you will end up somewhere else. On a PC/Laptop, if you hover your mouse over the link, you should be able to see where it does point.

@Sam-24 : That's legit from EE. Many EE users are being made this offer. EE are trying to move people off legacy plans onto newer ones. You are free to take up 1 of the offers & stay with EE or you can move to another network.

I received this text too. The link did initially take me to the correct offer a couple of days ago but I didn’t complete the transaction at the time. When I’ve gone back to do it today, the link just goes to the shop homepage and the offer isn’t there any more. I hope this gets fixed ASAP as I don’t want to move onto the more expensive plan, obviously.

Hi @Liz_Griff.

Welcome to the community.

This offer may have expired if it was a limited time offer.

If you'd like to discuss the current offers available to you, I'd recommend giving our Customer Care team a call so they can go through this with you.
