Please read if you have ordered a Samsung Galaxy device (New OR Upgrade)

Firstly, I want to stress that I am in the same boat as you.

On 03/09/21 I ordered a Galaxy S21 Phantom Grey 256GB.

At the time of ordering, it was showing as "Usually Dispatched within 1 day".  Within 15 minutes of ordering, this had changed to "7 days".

 

I received two emails; one confirming my phone order (which contains my order number) with an estimated delivery date of 06/09/21, and another confirming the change to my contract.

 

Using my order number to track my order @ https://myaccount.ee.co.uk/orderdetails shows me the following message -

 

"Sorry, we can't show your order details right now. 

Don't worry, we'll keep you updated on the progress of your order by text or email. Keep an eye out for these updates from EE or from our courier DPD."

 

When I've spoken to EE Customer Services online and on the phone, they have assured me that they will be in touch when it has dispatched, but are unable to give a time-frame of when this will be other than "hopefully in the quoted time-frame".

 

This is probably all sounding very familiar to you.

 

So, why am I writing this post?  Because there have been numerous posts made about the exact same thing over the past week!  This isn't necessary - EE CS representatives are giving you all the information they have! They are mushrooms - kept in the dark and fed on....you know the rest.

 

Quite simply, there is a stock shortage. We can speculate on the causes of this shortage (import issues, manufacturing delays, EE hates you, Samsung hates you - whatever), but it doesn't change the reality of the situation.

 

I know you're tired, frustrated and want your new phone, but hang tight - all things come to those who wait.  If you don't want to wait, then cancel your order and try to get a device else where.

 

I've also seen posts along the lines of "I ordered my device 2 days ago and it said it had a 7 day wait, where is my device?!" - if this is you, you have answered your own question.

 

I hope all your devices arrive within the quoted time frame - sooner rather than later - but we're all in this together and bogging down customer support with identical queries will only detract from people with actual urgent issues getting support.

Me either! Ordered my S21 on 1st Sept (said usually dispatched in 7 days)

 

Est Del 17th-21st but now thats dissapeared too, so who knows!!!!

 

Got a notification saying good news, your order is coming soon, very vauge haha! @jarkimond

Just bit the bullet on an upgrade to the Z Fold 3 - in conversation was quoted 7-28 days but told of stock shortages. That's fine going in as long as you are aware but seems that some of you were given differing timelines that haven't been met.

 

Quite a lot going on, chip shortages, logistics nightmares, import/export delays.

 

Hope everyone gets their phones soon..

Ordered in-store on August 25th and told a 1-2 week wait. Understandable.

 

Contact the store after 2 weeks pass, no phone yet. Contact again today (almost 4 weeks later) to be told it's already in-store, but I hadn't been notified.

 

Annoying, but it's finally here. Drive 35 minutes through Saturday afternoon traffic to go collect it, only to be told that it arrived August 29th (4 days after I ordered) and they've now sent it back!

 

I'm told once it arrives back (whenever that'll be) my contract will revert to the old one and I'll have to start the entire process again with waits of now 21+ days.

 

I paid £50 up-front originally and the bill for my new contract has also gone out. They aren't sure if/when that'll be refunded when the phone eventually arrives back at HQ.

 

So I'm £50 down, plus the extra billing for the new contract, have no phone being delivered, have wasted my sunny afternoon, and have no clue if/when I'll get my upgrade, over 7 weeks or more if all goes well from here!

Shocking - to me, it sounds like they either didn't have it in the first place or have sold to someone else. Why send it back knowing the shortage?

 

I'd be raising this with EE as a complaint and you're well within your rights to do so.

Ordered the s21 256gb in white on 27th August and just recieved dpd notification that its being delivered on Monday.. literally a week shy of a month. At the point of order it said estimated 7 days.

I agree and I filed my complaint, only to be told the £50 up-front which I paid will get knocked off my upcoming bills and I need to start from scratch. Although, they cannot guarantee the original deal (which is the whole reason I decided to upgrade anyway) will still be available to me!

My S21 is on the way to me and arriving on Monday (ordered on the 3rd)!

 

While I'm waiting, can I activate my Netflix smart benefit? 

 

When it arrives, how do I order the galaxy buds?

Well.
I've just had sms messages from EE about my new plan and add ons etc.
Went to the app. The whats new section where I've beem tracking my order
and the order tracking is no longer there.
Its got my new plan but still showing my old p20 pro as my handset. Cant
see the order tracking anywhere now.

I'll message ee shortly to figure out what is going on. Fingers crossed its
on the way

Hi I'm still waiting for my back order s21 plus in phantom silver, its quickly coming to the end of September and have the promotional buds and tag with it, what happens if it goes into October as it says the promotion must be claimed within September thanks
