Hi,
Placed my order for a new phone today but I won't be in to receive it as I'm at work. My mother-in-law will be there to accept delivery but I've read that I have to present ID upon receipt?
Can my mother-in-law do this on my behalf?

Afternoon @Bevo169
Thanks for coming to the community.
If you are not going to be available, anyone accepting the delivery for you would need to have the same surname as you and show their own ID for the delivery.
Thanks.
Leanne.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately that's not possible as we're all
at work? Only my mother-in-law will be in and of course she doesn't share
my surname?
What happens in this instance?
Thanks,
Simon

DPD if they do their job correctly will take the handset back and try again the next day.
Some drivers will just leave it but they wouldn't be doing their jobs if they did that.
BUT DPD has a new policy for covid.
You can put a note on the door stating you are self isolating due to covid and to please leave the package. Make sure you sign the note as the driver will then leave it in the safe place you state on the note take a picture of it and then leave.
Make sure your mother-in-law doesn't answer the door. Once he goes your mother-in-law and grab it and make sure its safe in the house for when you return.

Hi @Bevo169
You can find details of DPD's delivery policy, in our A change to delivery procedures for DPD, article.
I would suggest giving us a call on 150, our Mobile Care team will be able to run through your options if you are not going to be available for the delivery.
Thanks.
Leanne.

Do DPD send a message when they are delivering with a time slot?
If so I may be able to be in for it.
Thanks,
Simon

You get a message stating you will get it next day.
You then get a message on the morning with a narrower time slot.
