possibly a silly question.
Got a new EE Smarthub and wondered what is best way t swap out its old one .I have many wifi and hard wired connections running off existing hub. Will I need to reconfigure all of these ? Or Can I transfer settings to new smart hub

Do you mean you're swapping from the black Smart Hub to the white Smart Router?
You can manually copy your settings across. There shouldn't be many unless you have highly personalised it.
All the WiFi devices will need reconnecting unless you change the WiFi SSIDs & pwds to be those of the old router (which is what I do).

Thank you for replying. old router is a BrightBox 2 and new one is EE Smart hub. They said Ive been on old one for years and sent me new one as its meant to be faster. I think I'll get all settings written out and then swap . I think it will be a slow process as got quite a few wi-fi connections . Thanks again

The EE Smart Hub is functionally far weaker than the Brightbox. So if you've made use of any of the Brightbox's less common features, like multiple SSIDs & VLANs, QoS , MAC Filters, you won't be able to translate them to the SH. Personally I wouldn't bother. The speed increase is insignificant.

Thank you for the update. This is very useful information. I didn't have issues with the Brightbox.
They rang and said you've been with us for years and can offer the smart hub (and is faster etc etc) . I think I'll stick to Brightbox.
If it isn't broken and all that. If the increase in speed is not grate noticeable then Im happy with it. I have been working from home since Covid broke and all been fine.
