Hi,

Ive just bought a pre paid data sim and a tp link MR200 router. I'm in Italy, installed the router but not getting internet. Ive got plenty of signal but it looks like I need to register the sim. EE website tells me to login and register but I get stuck in a loop and it never remembers my sim number.  Tried calling helpline but only got uselesz pre recorded messages. Help!!

Thanks

Did you use that PAYG SIM in UK before you left to go abroad? EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thanks xrayspecs. Bit of a shame that, wish they'd made that clear when I bought it. It's got 6GB on it which lasts 2 months so didn't want to activate it until I needed it.

Is there really no way at all I can activate it while abroad?

Hi @Micromoose

I am sorry, the SIM would need to be used in the UK before this can be used abroad, we are unable to activate this for you.

Leanne.
