New phone delivery and unlocking.

I wish to purchase a phone from EE.  Contactless delivery is in operation due to Covid 19.  How does this work? I live in a flat and the main door is in a communal parking area. Where will my delivery be left without the risk of it being stolen?  

Does it cost anything for a Pay as You Go phone to be unlocked?  Can I get a Pay as You go Sim which just uses credit and does not require a monthly package?

@tinmanius   The driver should ring your flat number so you can come down and collect it from them at a safe distance.   You can request the device to be unlocked as soon as you’ve setup an account with this device and it will be free of charge.   If you don’t want to use packs that last 30 days as soon as your SIM card is activated you just need to text STOP PACK to 150 you’ll then be using a standard PAYG where your credit is s used for calls/texts.   You’ll not be able to use data unless you purchase a data bundle and these last 30 days or until used up.
